El Salvador

The El Salvador national football team is the national team of El Salvador and is controlled by the Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol. The team have qualified twice for the FIFA World Cup Finals; firstly in 1970 and then in 1982. El Salvador play their home matches at the Estadio Cuscatlan and are part of the CONCACAF confederation which includes North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Currently ranked 110th in the world they have been as high as 50th in 1992. Luis Guevara holds the national record for the most caps with 89 and Jorge "Magico" Gonzaalez is the country's record goal scorer with 41 international goals in 48 appearances.
