Mark Schwarzer

Born in North Richmond, Sydney, Mark Schwarzer plays as a goalkeeper for the English Premier League (Fulham) and is Australia’s national team number one goalkeeper.

After he had played for 3 years for different German clubs Mark Schwarzer joined Middlesbrough in the UK in April 1997. His most important contribution to Middlersbrough’s success came in the 2004-2005 season during a match against Manchester City, in stoppage time he saved a penalty kick (from Robbie Fowler) and preserved the 1-1 draw which was sufficient to ensure a qualification for the UEFA Cup.

On 21st May 2008 Schwarzer signed a two- year deal al Fulham. He is considered an important contributor to the club and received the "Fulham Player of the Year 08-09" in his first year at Fulham.
