Ikechi is given the Confidence to Play

The first fruits of Mitre's exciting partnership with the Glenn Hoddle Academy are beginning to show with the thrilling news that GHA player Ikechi Anya 21, has joined League One side Northampton Town on a month long loan. The relationship that kicked off in May 2008 sees Mitre provide the GHA with a range of top quality apparel and footballs including X- treme training balls and Ultimax match balls, which enable the GHA to provide the highest levels of equipment for the players, as they go all-out to achieve their goal: A return to top-flight football.

Ikechi, a talented striker with excellent pace, was released last year from Wycombe Wanderers, and joined the Glenn Hoddle Academy in the summer having impressed at the Academy's initial trials. There has also been considerable club interest in members of the squad, both in England and further afield, following a range of friendly matches against senior Spanish and British opposition including; Sevilla, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Excited at the prospect of the loan deal Ikechi said: "I was really pleased when Northampton showed an interest in me. My goal is to get back into the game as soon as possible, and I hope to do well and impress. The work with Glenn Hoddle and the coaching team in Spain has really made a huge difference to me, I am now more confident in my abilities."
