Mitre in Venezuela

Sunday 9th November saw two Venezuela cities, Guayana Mineros and Minerven, go head to head in a league football match at the famous "Clásico del Sur" or "del Hierro" (Southern Classic or Iron Classic) as some prefer to call it, with both teams wearing Mitre kit.

There was a massive response from the village of Guayana, with record breaking attendance figures was for a first-league football game, where 21,618 fans gathered to watch the two teams.

Mineros won for three main reasons: 1) their number of fans 2) their results and 3) for having the best footballer, Julian Diaz from Colombia, who took the trophy given by Mitre, the training wear sponsor for both teams in Bolivar.
