Richie Barker

Born in Sheffield, the hard working and determined player was signed by Hartlepool in January 2007.

The powerful striker was instrumental on Hartlepool's 2006/2007 promotion push, scoring 9 goals in 18 games and bagging the winning goal at Wycombe Wanderers which sealed a top three finish.

A fan favourite the squad number 9 scored 15 goals in all competitions last season.

Richie has scored 130 goals so far in his career and captained Mansfield in 2005.

He re-joined Rotherham United on the 3rd October 2008, on a emergency loan, and is expected to make the switch permanently in January. He scored on his second Millers debut in the 4-1 over Grimsby Town after coming off the bench.

Barker is the ideal lower division striker, full of power and a good footballing brain. He is a hard worker and scares opposition defences.
