MITRE FLIES INTO THE TACKLE AGAINST HOMELESSNESS
The 2023 Homeless World Cup begins in Sacramento next month and we’re excited to be part of it.
We are delighted to announce that we will be joining forces with the Homeless World Cup in a three year partnership. which begins in July at the 2023 Sacramento Homeless World Cup – the first time the tournament will be held in the USA.
It’s the second time this summer that our balls make their way to the States for a small sided tournament and this time it’s the Ultimatch One -100 of them in fact – flying across the pond to join the mission in helping change lives and communities through football.
The Homeless World Cup itself is an annual, world-class, international tournament that brings together teams of men and women who are homeless or have experienced homelessness to represent their country. The event, which demonstrates the life-changing potential of sport, showcases the dedication and talent of players from each territory.
This year’s competition takes place from 8th – 15th July at California State University, Sacramento. As well as acting as the venue for the games, the university will accommodate the visiting countries and their players on campus.
Mitre’s support of the Homeless World Cup will feature in the film ‘The Beautiful Game’, set to be released by Netflix in 2024.
